Whenever it is characterized as a "sect", MISA® followers and activists become inflamed, protest and demand the withdrawal
of the infamous term from any association with them.
E.g:
"We protest with indignation against the use of the phrase "porn sect" in association with the MISA Esoteric Yoga School,
phrase that is tendentious and slanderous.
This school was not, is not, and never will be a sect...
We request that you immediately remove the word 'sect' from any reference to our association, both now and in the future." (link)
"- You are a porn sect!
- We are not a sect!"
- So you don't reject the claim that you are porn!?”
Because both the leaders and the majority of MISA® students exhibit thinking, attitudes, and actions that are significantly different
from those of ordinary people, and they are standing out very clearly wherever there lies, the label of ”sect” is difficult to remove,
so one of the reactions from MISA® was to claim that the notion of a sect is a very vague one and that, in fact,
any religion or doctrine can easily be considered a sect ("the others do the same", "all in the same pot").
But seeing this wasn't working, MISA® leaders decided to take the buffalo by the horns and produced a comparative analysis,
with clear criteria.
They even published a book, entitled "Is YOGA a sect or a spiritual path?", by prof, yoga Gr. Bivolaru and associate professor. Dr. M.D.,
published by Ed. Shambala.
Significant excerpts from this book are presented in this article, in which the authors contest ”the slander and misinformation about MISA®
and present fundamental ideas that aim to clarify why the YOGA system is incompatible with the sectarian and dogmatic spirit
and why MISA® is not a sect.”
It is noticeable from the start the vile manipulation by which the "MISA® yoga school" identifies itself with the YOGA system in its entirety,
hiding behind it.
Philosophical or spiritual systems are not sects because they do not deviate THEMSELVES from their source.
Some individuals interpret or distort ideas in their own personal way, then persuade others.
So not the visions, but the people deviate (not the weapons target and shoot by themselves, but the people who wield them).
The problem is not whether the YOGA system is a sect (sect in relation to what?), but whether the "MISA® school of yoga" is a sect
in relation to the traditional YOGA system and genuine schools of yoga.
MISA® always claims that is not a sect and presents in its defense the reports presented to the Supreme Court of Justice of Sweden:
Swedish expert, Karl Erik Nylund’s report on MISA and Gregorian Bivolaru
The Report on MISA and NATHA of the Swedish Sociologists from Skop-Research
The claims from of the Nylund's report have been debunked here in a post on a Finnish television website.
Both reports are limited and subjective, because they were made by people who did not know the reality in Romania,
based on the survey of students and former students in Denmark and Sweden (for security reasons!)
On what criteria were they selected?
For example, no one asked the people from ExMISA then.
In addition, it is ridiculous that MISA® always presents reports issued in 2005 as some kind of "blank
certificates of eternal absolution from sins",
for facts that have happened since then!
Even if those reports were correct, what guarantee is there that the situation presented there will last forever?
After the actions of the police and prosecutors regarding MISA®, as well as the subsequent schism within MISA,
things got very bad within the organization and isolation and paranoid attitudes increased.
So let's judge the issue according to the criteria proposed by the President and the Spiritual Guide of MISA® himself,
but with evidence MORE RECENT than the REPORTS mentioned before (which, therefore, MISA® can no longer invoke!)
I. SOME ELEMENTS OF A GENERAL CHARACTER
1. Etymology

"The word SECT comes from the Latin SECTA, SEQUI = to follow, to follow in someone's footsteps and SECARE = to cut.
The authors' conclusion is the opposition of the terms:
separation in the case of sects - respectively union, in the case of the YOGA system (yug = yoke, to unite).
2. Definition
”Romanian Dictionary :”sect”:
"a religious community separated from the respective official church; (closed) group made up of followers of a doctrine."
In common language, the sect has a negative, contemptuous connotation, indicating a "deviation" with a religious background,
and the word "sectarian" is equivalent to a rudimentary, dependent and manipulated person.”
The authors' conclusion is that the sect is a group that isolates itself ideologically from its source and physically isolates itself from society,
being linked to a certain spatio-temporal and cultural-religious conjuncture.
comment:
In relation to the "spatio-temporal and cultural-religious conjuncture", MISA® manifests itself as a fanatical messianic apocalyptic sect,
mainly related to the false "prophecies of Sundar Singh about the spiritual mission of Romania",
on the basis of which it arrogated his planetary mission to save humanity.
According to the statements of its leaders, MISA cannot be a sect because, first of all, yoga is not a religion.
From this article, it is said that ”YOGA is not a religion but a spiritual path, providing a method and a philosophical system
that allow the human being to become perfect, just as God intended it when He created him.
Spiritual liberation means that the purpose of our existence is to get closer to God, to know Him,
to become one with Him.
Then, two lines later, it is stated that "religion, etymologically, means to reunite (re-connect) the human being with the Divinity."
According to this definition, as well as MISA®, YOGA is PRECISELY RELIGION,
because YOGA is created to help man become one with God!
In fact, the article wants to say that yoga is not a religious cult, but a method of finfing God.
Is MISA® a religious cult, with rituals of worship, sacred places and objects of worship?
During the first 5-6 years, no religious language was used in MISA®'s courses and activities.
It was about practices and techniques instead of churches and rituals, about Liberation instead of Salvation,
about meditation instead of worship, about chakras, energy meridians, energies, Kundalini instead of Holy Spirit and the Power of God.
Instead of God, they spoke about the Divine.
But with the introduction at MISA® of the "yogic innovation" of the "Yang Spiral® followed by the Induction of the State
of Spiritual Liberation through Divine Miracle” (see info and video), as well as the Art of Blessing (link),
it was released at MISA® the invocation of God.
After the MISA® leader founded the Theophanic Charismatic Movement (link) with the motto "With God, for God, in God, through God",
it got to the point that, in older "recycled" conferences, "Divine" was replaced everywhere with "God", and in the title of the Attributes,
the word "Godly" appears twice (see here).
Obviously, it is not about any spiritual awakening, but about the fact that the use of religious language from the very beginning,
would have led to the idea of a sect.
Once a large number of followers became loyal, the mask of "practices and spiritual path" could finally be dropped,
becoming becoming more and more obvious the need of the MISA® leader to pose as God's messenger.
As for worship and adoration, here are just a few examples:

At MISA®, the "miracle of the spear of light of the god SKANDA" is often evoked, but nooo religion...

In a post titled "Stunning Discoveries: The Bible Code Predicts Spiritual Actions Initiated on a Planetary Level by MISA",
it is stated that the realization of collective prayers was certainly inspired by God and is part of a grandiose plan of transformation
of both the destiny of mankind and the planet Earth, since a passage identified by the secret code of the Bible designates an exceptional being
- a "sent of God on Earth" - who will effectively carry out the process of transforming destiny, and thanks to the new Covenant
which has been realized since 2010 within the MISA yoga school, the "end of days" will not mean the end of life on this planet
and that what was written over 3000 years ago in the secret code of the Bible is being fulfilled here and now,
"without false modesty", through the MISA yoga school, under the brilliant guidance of yoga teacher Bivolaru.
Gregorian Bivolaru (Grieg) - Biography
”While he was a child he often had recurring dreams about himself being a Tibetan Yogi of high spiritual attainment.
As a result of these dreams, he had many recollections of various yogic techniques that he started to practice with amazing results.
Because of this, he was able to attain in a very short time, by practising on his own, a whole series of psycho-mental accomplishment
that are generally considered paranormal.
All these experiments culminated at the age of 19, when he had a decisive breakthrough and attained the state of spiritual awakening.
His building of a western yoga school was founded on his own practical experience of the ancient methods for self-realisation.”
Ideological isolation and in relation to society is analyzed in what follows.
3. Origin
The authors consider that a sect is a group of religious dissent, detached from a cult or a religion,
against the background of dissatisfaction or dogmatic conflict, as a protest or challenge.

In a post from May 2005, it is stated that MISA is the only organization in Romania that is a full member of the International Yoga Federation,
along with its subsidiaries in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Switzerland, as well as the Agama school in Thailand,
all initiated by yoga instructors trained by Gregorian Bivolaru.
It is also recognized that the International Yoga Federation (IYF) is the world authority on Yoga.
M.I.S.A and its aforementioned international affiliates are full members of the International Yoga Federation
as well as its European European branches, European Yoga Federation and European Yoga Alliance.
At the time of the opening of the criminal files against Bivolaru and MISA® in Romania, as well as the trial in Sweden
regarding Bivolaru's request for political asylum, FIY sided with MISA® and sent letters of support to the Swedish authorities:
But in 2008, a MISA® student for 13 years and a MISA® instructor for 4 years, sent IYF a letter in which
she denounced at MISA® practices incompatible with the principles of yoga and of the IYF,
letter that is argued and commented on here.
The evidence that emerged was so relevant that the International Yoga Federation and the European Yoga Alliance
excluded MISA® and its subsidiaries from its ranks:
The president of EYC of European Alliance and Secretary of IYF for Europe inform:
”You are only a vulgar sex businessman using the names of "Tantra Yoga" and our "International Yoga Federation"
as an attractive cover for your controversial business activities.
My official resolution as president of the European Yoga Council of the European Yoga Alliance is that Mihai Stoian, Grieg Bilovaru
and all people linked to the MISA/NATHA organization are immediately expelled from our organization and that we stop their membership,
because it has been proven that they are not busy with Yoga in whatever form, that they even use Yoga as a cover for illegal practices,
that they do not respect the rules and standards of our organization, that they show an unheard lack of moral integrity,
and cannot be convinced to change their attitude.”
So, MISA® was expelled after it was found to have deviated from the principles of yoga!
From the moment the "full member" MISA® was excluded, the "yoga world authority" IYF suddenly became undesirable!
Here is what NATHA president himself wrote:
”Significant issues related to the dirty games played behind the scenes by The International Yoga Federation and not only.”
In order not to notice that it was excluded from everywhere, MISA® created its own yoga federation, an "umbrella organization"
– "International Atman Yoga Federation" - constituted in reality only by its international branches.
Many of those who work in these branches - often even leading them - are participants in MISA® courses.
The fact is very clearly recognized in an article published on one of the organization's websites, although the branches themselves declare
hat they have no connection with MISA®:
It clearly says that ”this association which till now still has only 20 members led to a large-scale spiritual movement
and established the largest yoga school in Europe.
The scale of spiritual activities and events organized by MISA yoga school (and even the similar event organized by similar schools opened abroad
by instructors trained in the MISA School) revolve around the very strong personality of Gregorian Bivolaru.
Then MISA® arrogated to itself a spiritual line (Gupta Maha Siddha Yoga) without ever indicating who its masters in this line are,
and gave the yoga practice it teaches a pronounced orientation towards sexual practices, even inventing his own "techniques"
(such as the yang spiral®, tickling or mutual consumption of urine in the act of love, promoted in a counterfeit work, "The Mystic Lady").
G. Bivolaru conference - "Fundamental esoteric revelations, concerning both the intentional action of direct tickling
of certain excitable areas of someone else's body, as well as the intense tickling sensation that thus arises."

But what exactly made the Great Visionary deviate from the traditional line of the yoga system?
Here is what he himself says in an interview:
"Interview without prejudice with GREGORIAN BIVOLARU - TANTRA, a difficult and narrow path like a razor's edge"

"I followed the usual traditional path, the one indicated by the great sages of the East, which includes yoga poses,
vegetarianism
and giving up many things, among them sexuality.
Oriental spirituality was revealed to me as being related to sexuality and thus I understood the need to control it
or even to suppress it in the case of abstinence, to sublimate it.
For a certain period of time I thought this was the Way.
I got to correspond with and then meet a completely unusual female character, although very little known in France
because of his modesty.
She was utterly fascinating in his intelligence, beauty and spiritual elevation was, even if she did not like to be called that,
a true female Tantric Spiritual Guide.
She endeavored to make me acquainted with certain esoteric aspects of TANTRA YOGA as they had been accessible to her
in an initiation center in India.
Also on this occasion, through her I had access to certain secret traditional yogic and tantric writings that allowed me
to understand many enigmas.
This feminine Spirit Guide gave me certain secret keys and, by introducing me to this mysterious universe,
pointed me to the sources of tantric thought."
This is how the Planetary Prime Minister admits that he understood at the beginning that the traditional yoga system
"indicated by the great sages of the East" - "The Way" - includes abstinence (because if it was otherwise,
it would have understood that from the start).
Then, after meeting the unknown female Guide (she was modest) from the heart of the Eastern tradition - i.e. ”France" - he turned to Tantra!
That is, he gave up the indication of the great sages of the East for the indication of the little unknown woman from Paris!
Instead of integrating sexual continence into yoga, he integrated yoga into sexuality, baptized the "new way" as "sacred eros"
and this is how the "doctrinal deviation" occurred.
Later, he would apply the same tactic: under the glaze of yoga mixed with Christianity, he pumped cream of tantric sexuality,
although he says himself that this means walking on a razor's edge!
No wonder that the "world authority on Yoga" has excluded the MISA®/NATHA organizations from its ranks
"because it has been proven that they do not deal with Yoga in any form, but actually use Yoga as a cover for illegal practices"
and, in reply, MISA® got angry and founded his own Federation, where he teaches yoga in his own style.
MISA® claims to be superior to other paths, through "unique revelations in a worldwide premiere".
Therefore, MISA® successfully fulfills the criteria of "sect" no. 1-3 of its own analysis!
4. The specific prevailing tendency
The authors consider that the term "sectarian" has become a synonym for narrow, exclusive, limited, and that
the concerns and aspirations of the sectarian are limited and directed only to the extremely narrow domain of the sect,
from which fanaticism and intolerance derive.
MISA® - like any sect - wants to attract as many followers as possible, and its ideology seeks to attract the widest possible audience,
covering as many orientations as possible - often opposed - under the pretext of achieving a spiritual synthesis,
which is actually a mixture.
The specificity of the group is the concern for the so-called "sacred sexuality", claiming that intense carnal pleasure
it is the most effective path to spiritual perfection.
Hence the bizarre manifestation of the group which, while declaiming God, displays a true obsession with sexual practices,
attractively packaged in the concepts of "SEXUAL CONTINENCE®" and "LOVE CONTINENCE®",
which the Movement has registered as its own brands, alongside the men's (VIRA) and women's (SHAKTI) groups.
Photos depicting undressed persons who executes yoga poses and techniques are ubiquitous.
MISA®'s brochures and publications are full of photographs with strong erotic undertone even when not related to sexuality,
not to mention the "artistic productions" (!) recognized by them (videochat and movies) which, according to the text of the law,
are downright pornographic.
MISA® has made tantric sexuality a true spiritual mission that it has undertaken on a worldwide level,
stating about sexual amorous continence® that it is the most intelligent and advanced way of making love, the true sexual revolution,
and MISA takes credit for reviving this secret tradition in the West, promoting it widely.
Tantric sexual practices at MISA® surpass other types of yoga in importance.
In this article, it is said that only the implementation of the sacred vision of eros, based on perfect amorous continence,
can always lead to fusion with the Divine, only TANTRA YOGA leads to GOD THE FATHER.
This inclination of MISA® towards tantric sexuality distinguishes it from other yoga classes.
Along with expulsion from the International Yoga Federation for deviating from traditional yoga, it can be added
the reaction that MISA® provoked in India itself, the country of origin of the Yoga system, but also of Kamasutra.
A recent trend is the promotion of "esoteric Christianity", based on "revelations" regarding "Pure Eros" and the Divine Attributes,
which the MISA® leader arrogates as "revelations in the planetary premiere".
He has produced a series of conferences entitled
"Amazing revelations concerning the sublime subtle energy of Pure Divine Eros contained in the esoteric teachings of Jesus
and which then persisted in early Christianity".
During this time, Bivolaru disregards traditional Christianity. In a conference in the 90s, he stated:
Question:
"I would like you to say why you chose yoga and not faith in God, although Christianity is more specific to us...?"
Gregorian Bivolaru's answer:
"...due to the dogmatism that still persists in Christianity.
There are certain techniques even in the so-called "Christian esotericism", but they are diffuse.
Between the clarity and precision of the yogic teachings and the vague way of presentation that these Christian methods contain,
so the yogic teaching is much clearer and more precise.
It is undefiled by a whole series of censorships and evasions as happened to certain Christian writings."
Question:
"Jesus is regarded by Christianity as the only savior. In the Bible, this is supported.
Yoga sees Liberation achieved through self-effort and possibly aided by cosmic forces
different from Jesus. Is there an inconsistency here?”
Gregorian Bivolaru's answer:
"Know that there is no inconsistency.
In no case should we consider that Jesus was the only savior because, I told you and I repeat, if it were so,
this would mean that God the Father would have mocked everyone who was before Jesus.
The sleep of reason, in which fanatics and superstitious indulge, continues to encroach on consciences; so it appears very clearly
that Jesus is a divine model, but not the only one.
This dogmatic vision in which Jesus appears as the only savior, as the only way of access to the Godhead, know that is the work of priests."
At the same time, Bivolaru claims that many "revelations" made by him at MISA® are "for the first time on planet", meaning - in his logic -
"God made fun of those who lived before him"!
So, Bivolaru believes that to claim that there is only one way (as Christianity claims) is a dogmatic view,
after he also said that only the tantric vision (the sexual one, of course) can lead to God.
And Christian rituals are forms of worship and are "vague", but the worship of the elephant-headed god and his spiritual brides
it's not a ritual, but a precise and clear technique...
In fact, Bivolaru promotes a new religion of the future, which he calls "Godness" and which would be based on his revelations
regarding the Godly Attributes.
In the article "Thoughts at the beginning of a new Eve" it is said that religion will be one and only one and
this will add all both what is best and truest of all religious currents that have ever existed on planet Earth,
and genuine knowledge of other extraterrestrial civilizations.
This religion will be called “Godness”.
In another article outlining messianic fanaticism from MISA®,
Bivolaru announces that he will send a very important message inspired by GOD and titled “A Message of Good News.”
He states that in light of the renowned prophecies of Sundar Singh (debunked here), it is absolutely certain and beyond any doubt
that MISA yoga school will be and will remain for a quite some time, the nucleus of a fundamental spiritual transformation,
which will manifest with the immense and mysterious help of GOD first in this country, and then it will be able to start a true spiritual revolution
which will take place on the planetary level.
MISA spiritual school will be the most important school on this planet, and with the direct guidance of GOD and the direct guidance of the angels
will prepare a new, fast, easy and efficient path to discover GOD and to become one with Him, each of us will no longer need any intermediary.
In the message at the end of a yoga camp, entitled "Some constructive conclusions, full of divine wisdom", Bivolaru declared that
the unique Godly revelation of the Attributes is offered by God within the MISA, it has never been offered to humans before,
this lays the foundation of a new stage on Earth, it is the basis of a new religion without intermediaries, a new divine religion
of a plurivalent objective synthesis that will naturally make all other religions disappear.
It should be noted the blatant contradiction that the "unique religion, without intermediaries" comes only
through the "intermediary prophet" Bivolaru...
But a prophet must be authenticated by external signs, so that miracles described as "divine" "occur" at MISA®,
another expression of fanaticism within the ranks of the organization:
In the article
"The good God continues to give us amazing signs after the exposition of God-inspired revelations
in the Theophanic Charismatic Movement TCM” (link),
it is said that the appearance of rainbows cannot be an accident, because an objective of the TCM is the presentation of divine theophanies,
(i.e. the revelations and sensory manifestations of God before people),
that the purpose of TCM is the spiritual preparation of people for radical transformations on a planetary level to enter into communion
with the Heavenly Father, and these join many other extraordinary appearances of Divine Signs at the activities of the MISA® Yoga School.
Another distinctive mark of MISA® is the promotion of conspiracy theories, such as the "gigantic planetary satanic conspiracy of freemasonry",
but also the invocation of "the help of beneficial extraterrestrial civilizations"
For several years, with the decrease in the number of participants in MISA®'s paid holiday camps, the activities carried out within the camps
as well as their scheduling - which, in previous years, were announced in advance on the Internet - have become secret and are communicated
only to those students who register in advance, for a fee.
This secrecy has intensified with the transfer of activities, communications and debates to the online environment,
on private platforms like Zoom and Telegram, within private groups carefully controlled and supervised by the MISA®'s management.
So dissent, fanaticism, exclusivism, intolerance: point 4 = checked!
